Proceeds From JACK RUSSELL's Benefit Concert To Be Donated To ACEY LONGLEY
January 24, 2013February 20, 2013 marks the tenth anniversary of the tragic fire at The Station in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Jack Russell of the band GREAT WHITE, whose pyrotechnics ignited the deadly blaze, will take part in an acoustic performance on February 7, 2013 at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach, California, with proceeds set to be donated to Acey Longley (pictured below),the son of GREAT WHITE guitarist Ty Longley, who perished in the fire.
Commented Acey: "Thank you to GREAT WHITE (the Jack one) for donating to my charity, B.E.A.T.S. Bringing Everyone A Tremendous Smile, to help bring iTunes cards, drum sticks, and Legos to children in the hospitals in memory of my father, Ty Longley. I also am the state representative for Legos For Leukemia in Illinois, which is where I live. I bring smiles to kids in two hospitals Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois and in Plainfield, Illinois. I also plan to give some of it to the Station Fire Memorial Foundation to help build a permanent site for all the angels, including my dad.
"Members of both GREAT WHITE bands are my friends and have donated to my charities to help keep my dad's memory alive and turn the negative of never having my dad into a positive by spreading God's love to children when they need it most. Taking the donation from Jack's GREAT WHITE does NOT mean we only love Jack and his GREAT WHITE friends because we (me and my mom) love both GREAT WHITE bands. Audie and Derrick both donated drumsticks and Audie also sent a practice pad, autographed pictures, and Legos for me to help the kids!
"God says to love everybody, so I do, and people that aren't as easy to love need extra love so they can accept Jesus into their heart and replace the sadness. That's why I love both GREAT WHITE bands. I have never even met any of the members of either GREAT WHITE bands, but I still love them.
"When my dad died, I wasn't even born, but now I'm 9 and missing having my dad that everyone knew but me. It's important to me to make sure my dad is remembered by everyone and all of the angels because they went off to heaven together.
"I hope to make my dad proud by making the world a better place and bringing happiness to sick kids in the hospitals. I hope everyone understands, and doesn't fight, and helps me."
